HAVING lived for so many years in Tadcaster before it had the benefits of a public lending library, I was concerned to read that Tadcaster’s branch library was not included in the main list of survivors (The Press, November 19).
So why was so much of taxpayers’ money spent on so-called upgrading of Tadcaster’s library not so long ago?
Such upgrading appeared to me to be the providing of computers for use by the public.
Therefore in my opinion our library books had to take a back seat in favour of technology, a retrograde step some would say! Especially “book lovers”.
