A SECOND-HALF comeback earned Acomb Hockey Club Men’s I a 2-2 draw against Doncaster IV in Yorkshire League division three.
The Tangerines head into the winter break with one win and three draws from their eight games, and they are third from bottom of the table.
Doncaster put the home defence under pressure from the beginning and that pressure paid off when they opened the scoring with a shot through a crowded area from a short corner after ten minutes.
With Acomb’s confidence knocked, Doncaster pushed for a second and it came five minutes later via another short corner.
After the break, Acomb moved the ball about well and created chances, pulling one back quickly through Pete Hilton.
Man of the match Craig Brown made a few good saves to keep Acomb in the game.
A good run and cross from Matt Dickenson found Hilton and his second goal sealed a point for the Tangerines.
