SECOND-PLACED Cygnet were made to battle for their 7-4 victory over Walnut Tree in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Walnut Tree went 3-0 down as Cygnet’s Dawn Exton, Jill Reed and Anne Bass set the pace, before Sophie Simpson gamed in 23 darts to spark the recovery.

Clair Cooper and Babs Harrison joined Simpson to level the tie.

However, Bass and Michelle Britton, then Reed and Muriel Britton, sealed a close fought Cygnet victory.
