ARTWORK by York St John graduates was shown at a private viewing at Bar Lane Studios in York this week, after it had been used at the opening of a new Hugo Boss store.
The event featured work by five York St John graduates who are currently on an internship programme facilitated through a partnership between Creative Business at York St John University and Bar Lane Studios.
More than 60 guests braved the adverse weather to view work by participating graduates Jade Blood, Matt Durrant, Catherine Scriven, Suzanne Davies and Tom Hodgson.
The original exhibition was held in Manchester last month to mark the opening of the largest Hugo Boss store in Europe, and the graduate artwork was exhibited alongside work by David Hockney, Derren Brown, Goldie and Matisse, with several pieces being sold on the night to private collectors.
Jenny Hall, creative business development manager at York St John University said: “The internship scheme with Bar Lane Studios provides up-and-coming artists with fantastic exhibiting opportunities such as the Hugo Boss store launch. The launch night proved extremely productive with all interns attracting potential new opportunities from both industry and galleries alike.”
