St Leonard’s Hospice is offering the chance to get hold of one of the last few of its popular York Past calendars for 2011 – and is selling them from its Christmas Shop in Low Petergate, featured in the April picture.
The calendar is the ninth time that the hospice has used old photographs of the city, and which each year is eagerly snapped up by York residents and visitors to the city.
The striking cover of the 2011 calendar shows schoolboys sitting near York Minster’s south front in the 1860s.
The monthly pictures show other York scenes from the 1850s to the 1940s.
As well as the image of Low Petergate, the pictures include a view of York Racecourse and one of young swimmers in the River Foss at Yearsley Bridge.
The calendars cost £3.50.
