A PROJECT to create a community orchard in York this weekend has been put on hold because of the big freeze.
City of York Council’s Micklegate ward committee is funding the exercise at Scarcroft Green, which was originally due to take place on Saturday and see nine trees planted, with residents invited to take part.
But the event has been postponed because the freezing weather has left the ground too hard, although it will be rescheduled for the new year.
