PUPILS at a Pocklington school are filling a display with heartfelt messages to a fellow pupil who died while on holiday in Brazil.
Woldgate College has put up a large noticeboard on which friends and classmates are encouraged to post memorials, messages and well-wishes to 14-year-old Elliot Deslandes.
Elliot, a keen Buddhist, had been on a religious trip to Brazil organised by the Madhyamaka Buddhist Centre, in Kilnwick Percy.
He was swept out to sea after being hit by a huge wave while swimming.
Nicky Owens, head of Year 10, said: “I think it has helped many. We’ve had students coming and reading the messages as well, which has helped them, and just remembering all the positive things about Elliot.”
