Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and those Yet To Come will be mingling with late-night shoppers and party-goers in York as the city plays host to A Christmas Carol.
Peter Wilson and Damian Freddi, who are part of the York Horror Tour which operates from the Black Swan Inn, Peasholme Green, decided to swap their usual tour for the Dickens’ classic over the festive period.
They were inspired to entertain people with the age-old favourite after watching this year’s Mystery Plays in the city, when they realised that the streets of York were a fantastic backdrop for a theatre presentation.
They enlisted the help of some actors from the York Dungeon and rehearsals have been taking place over the past weeks.
Peter said: “Everyone is so excited, the project is just so perfect for Christmas and we can’t wait to see the faces of the people watching. We just know they are going to be surprised and entertained.”
The walk starts at The Guy Fawkes Inn in High Petergate at 7pm and lasts for two hours.
People can just turn up on any of the five nights – December 17, 18, 21, 22 and 23. The cost is £8 adults, £3 children.
