A MAN could be left permanently disfigured after he was glassed in the face in a city-centre nightclub.
Detectives are investigating the attack at Vudu Lounge, on Swinegate, York, at 3.15am on Saturday.
The victim received a serious wound to the side of the face which required stitches at York Hospital. The offender left the scene shortly after the offence.
A 33-year-old local man was arrested over the incident, on Lord Mayors Walk, at about 3.25am. He is on police bail as enquiries continue.
Detective Constable Michael Johnston, of York CID, said: “The victim has been left potentially scarred for life by this incident.
“The bar was very busy at the time of the offence; therefore I am hoping that someone will have information that can help the investigation.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the bar at the time to contact the police or Crimestoppers.”
