A WOMAN from North Yorkshire has been awarded the MBE at Buckingham Palace.

Sally Bell, of West Mount, Tadcaster, is the associate director of emergency preparedness for NHS Yorkshire and the Humber, and was given the MBE for her services to nursing.

Mrs Bell has worked for the NHS for 32 years. She said: “It was a wonderful and memorable day for me and my family.”
