THE death of an East Yorkshire skydiver whose parachute did not open when he jumped from an aeroplane at a music festival was accidental, an inquest has ruled.
Ryan Brown, of Rawcliffe, near Goole, was killed when he took part in a parachute jump at a fundraising event held at Bridlington Sports and Community Club on August 22.
Eyewitnesses told the inquest, held at Hull Coroner’s Court, how the 31-year-old seemed to get into difficulty during the 4,000ft leap, and paramedics, nurses and doctors tried to help him at the scene.
Speaking to The Press in September, Ryan’s mother said: “He was a bit of a daredevil, loving motorbikes and skydiving, and he was a very dedicated and intelligent young man.
“He had a natural charm, making friends everywhere he went, and he was a truly fantastic son and great to be around.”
Coroner Geoffrey Saul recorded a narrative verdict of accidental death at the inquest.
