TWO women and a man, supported by staff from nearby shops, came to the assistance of my wife when she fell heavily on the afternoon of Monday, December 13, in Piccadilly.
I would like to offer my sincere thanks for the kindness and comfort you gave to her while waiting for the ambulance and myself to arrive on the scene.
It is encouraging to know that good old-fashioned care from one human being to another still exists. My wife suffered a fractured cheekbone and is very shaken up, but otherwise nothing too serious, we hope. To City of York Council I would say, many of your pavements in the city centre are in a disgraceful state of repair, irrespective of the ice. I will be in touch.
