MITRE moved to joint-second place in division one of the John Smith’s Darts League with a 7-3 win over Acomb.
Mitre’s stars were Kirk Bevins (20), John Quantock (19), Pip Hair (140 c/o for 15) and Steve Atkins (17, 20), while Acomb’s best were Lee Brundrett (180) and Mark Mason (20).
Ainsty had Dave Mason (16), Martyn Turner (16) and Chris Thompson (16, 20) to thank for a 7-3 win at Cueball, whose Neil Caywood (20) and Shane Brandon (180) played well.
Crescent won 6-4 at Severus after a maximum from Steve Smith and a deciding game win by Wayne Markwick and Dean Drury.
In division two, Green Tree beat Turf 9-1 to go joint second. Rob Speed (21) was the star man.
Acomb’s Danny Turner (108 c/o) played well, but Derwent’s Pete Cooper and Mal Rollinson took the decider for a 6-4 win.
Sun’s Simon Theaker and Alan Williams also took the decider at Cross Keys, while John Crowe finished in 19 darts before Danny Moore and Pete West took yet another decider to give Holgate a 6-4 win over Fox.
