STAFF and pupils from Barwic Parade Primary School were presented with a generous donation from police officers this week.
Det Supt Dave Edwards and Det Insp Ian Wills presented head teacher Ian Chadwick with the cheque for £2,000, which was donated to the school as part of North Yorkshire Police’s Why Should They? campaign.
The campaign redistributes funds seized from criminals to community groups and charities across the region. The school has used the funds to buy cycle racks which will be fitted on the premises to encourage more pupils to ride to school and promote healthy lifestyles.
