CALENDAR presenter Carolyn Hodgson dropped in to Monks Cross to help hand over presents collected in the shopping park’s Give A Gift campaign.
The campaign, which began at the end of November, asked shoppers to pick up an extra gift to help brighten the Christmas of a less fortunate York child.
Carolyn met representatives of York’s Salvation Army and the York Women’s Refuge, who will be collecting and distributing the gifts until Christmas.
Sarah Pierotti, of the refuge, said: “We have a large number of children under our wing at the moment who did not think they’d have a very bright Christmas this year but due to the kindness of York shoppers, these donated presents will really make their Christmas much brighter for them. We are so grateful. Thank you everyone.”
Katherine Sharp, manager at Monks Cross, said: “There are a few more shopping days to Christmas and the Give A Gift appeal will continue. Monks Cross will ensure all further presents donated will get to the charities.”
To give your gift, pop into the Monks Cross information centre, pick up a hangar from the tree, and return it with your present for the team to wrap and keep safe.
