NO FEWER than seven sisters from a York family have met up together for a Christmas meal.
The elderly daughters of Margaret and Harold Taylor – Zilphy, 79, Annette, 74, Lyn, 72, Dot, 68, Carole, 67, Irene, 65, and Hilary, 64 – gathered at the Roman Bath in St Sampson’s Square.
Dot said it had become a tradition over the past decade for more and more sisters to get together at this time of year, but it was the first time all seven, who all came from across the York area, had managed it.
She said there was one more sister, Jean, 84, who had been unable to make it, but with good reason. “She lives in Australia!”
