A SPECIAL fundraising weekend by GAP store staff at the York Designer Outlet has raised more than £400 for St Leonard’s Hospice.
The store sold some of the Hospice’s small gifts and also held a collection.
They are currently holding a competition to win a chocolate Father Christmas, which will raise an extra £100.
Faye Nickson, at the Designer Outlet GAP, said: “We want to raise money for St Leonard’s as it’s a great local charity, and members of our staff and customers have known people cared for in the hospice.”
She said she was pleased to see such generous support from its staff and customers.
Another way they are supporting the hospice is by promoting giant Christmas tree cards.
Staff members are using these to send greetings to all of their colleagues – and making a donation to the hospice for the saving they make on sending individual cards. All the funds raised for the hospice will be matched by GAP’s head office.
Mandy Metcalfe, fundraising manager at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “Faye and her colleagues have done a great job with their fundraising for us. We are very grateful.”
