Yaing Juin Kim, 21 - I am supposed to be travelling down to London today to visit for a week and then go over to Poland so I am very worried that I won’t be able to get there. My flight is meant to be from Stansted Airport with Ryanair but I don’t know if it will be running. My English is not good and I haven’t been told much but I think I need to get a bus to London.

Jim Anderson, York - I absolutely have to get to London by tonight because I am performing at the Royal Opera House, in the Cinderella pantomime. I am going to try and change my ticket but I don’t know if I’ll be able to because it’s on a family railcard. If not I will just have to swallow the cost and buy another one. I tried ringing the help service before I left the house but it was incredibly difficult trying to get through. When I did manage to get through it was an automated service. They said: ‘where are you travelling from?’ I said: ‘York’, they said: ‘Where are you travelling to?’ I said: ‘London’. They said: ‘Selby?’ I said: ‘No, London’ and it just continued like that. It’s not very helpful.

Inbar Levinger, 28 - I am from Israel and am in England to travel. I am trying to go to London to stay with friends but I haven’t bought my ticket yet. I am being told I have to get a bus. I don’t even know where to get the bus from and I don’t understand why there are no trains. It’s not even snowing, what is the problem?

Patrick Cully, 24 - We are going to try and go to Manchester and then go across that way. It’ll add about an hour and a half to the journey I think. It’s very frustrating and particularly bad when you’re not feeling well. We had some problems getting up here as well, but not as bad as this.
