POLICE in York are trying to trace a Good Samaritan who came to the aid of a woman after she was knocked unconscious in a city centre nightclub attack.
The victim, a 42-year-old woman from Acomb, was left with blurred vision and bruising to her eye when she was hit in the face at Reflex, in George Hudson Street, between 1am and 1.30am on Saturday, December 11.
The woman was helped from the club by a man who took her to the safety of a nearby police van.
PC Cheryl Hunter, of York police, said: “We would very much like to trace the man who helped the victim following this incident, as he may have information that could greatly help the investigation.
“This was a very unpleasant incident which has left the victim with some pretty nasty injuries.”
The attacker, who was wearing dark clothing, is described as white, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, about 6ft tall, with a stocky build.
