Yorkshire beat Lincolnshire 36-31 to edge into the EIBA Under-25s county double rinks semi-finals.
They opened the first five ends with a five-shot aggregate lead at 8-3 and kept the advantage to the end.
The home leg at Thanet Road saw York’s Dave Attwood and Adam Liddell playing in the rink skipped by South Leeds’ Mark Hughes. They overturned a 12-10 deficit with six ends to play for an 18-15 victory.
In Spalding, John Bowes’ rink had a 14-8 lead with six ends to play, holding out to win 18-16.
Yorkshire now play Norfolk on a date still to be confirmed.
York got back to winning ways in the Hebden Trophy when they beat Doncaster 86-54 picking up 17 points, but it was only in the latter stages they pulled away.
After 15 ends the aggregate score stood at 49-43 with only two rinks winning.
Geoff Walker’s home team trailed 13-8 before taking all of the remaining ends to finish 19-13. Brian Thomas’ rink had an excellent game, turning a 10-0 deficit after 11 ends into a 26-14 victory.
Away, Eric Hodgson’s team were never troubled and led from start to finish before winning 22-8.
Tony Hopcutt, a late replacement for Tony Bryan, was pleased with the five shots his team picked up on the last end to secure a 19-19 draw.
