POLICE are seeking a vital witness following a crash at Monks Cross in York in which a car failed to stop.
The collision happened at the junction of Jockey lane and Monks Cross Link, near Rogers of York, just before 5.15pm on Tuesday, December 21.
It involved a silver Volvo and another car which did not stop at the scene. Following the collision it is believed that the car headed towards the ring road.
The woman driving the Volvo was not injured.
Traffic officers want to speak with the driver of a dark 4x4 vehicle that was seen travelling along Monks Cross Link just after the crash.
Traffic Constable Paul Stamp said he believed that driver had vital information about the car which failed to stop.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision,” he said.
