IN response to Kate Lock’s column on Friday, December 17, I totally agree that Christmas can be such a stressful and weirdly disappointing time.
But this year I’m feeling peaceful and quietly joyful, because instead of filling my head with horrible consumerism, I’m filling my head with thoughts of Jesus and how precious each one of us is to him.
So, to share in my quiet peace and joy, stop expecting fulfilment from presents, Christmas trees and family – instead lift your eyes up to look at Jesus and ask him to fill you with peace and joy.
Tell him you’re sorry for bad attitudes or bad things you’ve done and he will give you ultimate fulfilment.
Get yourself to a decent church to find out more. Stuff stress and materialism! Quiet peace and joy can be yours instead.
Happy Christmas.
