WELL now, aren’t some people lucky? I live in a cul-de-sac where, for a couple of days, I could not go out because I did not possess any skates.
Last year we had great difficulty getting in or out because we are approached by a slope on the turn of entry.
Previously we had had a salt bin which was removed and not returned so my first thought when snow was forecast was to ask for the bin to be replaced.
I have written letters and made phone calls, but to no avail.
It was only thanks to the kindness of one man and his son that the slope was cleared, and he does not even live in our street.
Even then we were unable to have our recycling boxes emptied because the wagon could not get down.
I was even told by one person on the phone that the box was taken away because it was not used. One wonders which joker made that decision. I think the saying is “get a life”.
The men driving the gritters are the only ones deserving a thank you.
