SCHOOLCHILDREN from Selby are set to star on the small screen in a new documentary in the New Year.
Chapel Haddlesey Primary School has been chosen as the winner of a national competition to celebrate the work of schools around the country.
A film crew from ITN and Teachers TV will visit the school in January, and the children have decided to create a special winter newspaper to celebrate their success. A spokesman for the school said: “The newspaper will bring together the whole community, with the pupils carrying out interviews with key local figures.
“The newspaper editor, an 11 year-old pupil, will be interviewed on the day and will be telling us about the process of making the school newspaper. The school will also be reporting on many of the exciting events that have happened over the term, including the day when a rocket visited the school.”
The television crew will be filming on January 7, but the broadcast date has not yet been announced.
