YORK-BORN golf star Simon Dyson was today playing the biggest match of his life – he was getting married.
The 32-year-old professional golfer was primed to marry his fiancée Lyndsey near their home in Cheshire before then jetting off to a honeymoon in New York and the Caribbean.
Dyson, whose elder brother Nick was his best man, is currently the world-ranked number 64 after a memorable 2010 which has been capped by today’s wedding.
Ushers at the ceremony included fellow professionals Jamie Donaldson, Nick Doherty and current world number nine Luke Donald, who flew to England from his American home in Chicago.
World number six – US Open winner Graeme McDowell – also a member of the victorious Ryder Cup team for which Dyson just missed out on automatic selection back in autumn, was another guest at the wedding.
When he returns from his honeymoon, Dyson will open his 2011 European Tour campaign at the Abu Dhabi Open on January 20.
