TWO people were killed and another two seriously injured in a road crash in North Yorkshire.
Emergency services were called to the B6165 at Burnt Yates, near Harrogate, at 1pm yesterday, after a collision between a green Audi A8 and a red Peugeot 306.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene with fire crews from Summerbridge and Harrogate, and the road reopened at least five hours after the crash.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police confirmed the female driver of the Peugeot and a male front-seat passenger both suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
The spokeswoman said two occupants of the Audi were taken by ambulance to Harrogate District Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
