YORK Sea Cadets have hosted their annual passing out parade, with qualifications and awards presented by Lieutenant Commander John Ward RNR, the eastern area training officer for the Sea Cadet Corps.
Two cadets who had completed their initial training read the Sea Cadet Promise in front of parents, guests and fellow cadets, followed by a performance by the York Sea Cadet band.
George Bennett, of the Minster Lions, presented a cheque for £522 to the unit, resulting from hard work displayed by cadets at a recent bag-packing event at Asda, Monks Cross, hosted by the Lions.
