A GRANDMOTHER gave a fantastic Christmas present to her four grandchildren this year after winning tickets to Disneyland Paris in a Press competition.
Glynis Harrison, of Brockfield Park Drive, Huntington, won the tickets in The Press’s 12 Days Of Christmas competition – after her relatives failed to post their entry on time.
Glynis said: “They didn’t know I had entered.
“My daughter was desperate to enter the same competition. But they had difficulty posting it and never did.
“She was gutted, but lo and behold I did it and I’ve gone and won it!
“It must be fate. I never win anything; none of us do so it was a very nice surprise,” she said.
Glynis’s grandchildren, Alexander Racey 12, Finley, aged nine, Oliver, aged six and Freya, four, and their mother Tracey Harrison-Racey and father Lance Racey, used to live in Labastide-Saint-Georges, which is about 45 minutes from Toulouse, France before moving to Elvington about a year ago.
But they have never been to Disneyland, said Lance.
He said: “We’re absolutely delighted.
“They have been looking forward to going for quite a while now. We used to live in France, but it was so difficult to get over there.
“This is fantastic opportunity for them and we’re delighted to have won.
“It was really nice of Tracey’s mum to have put the entry in and given this to us.
It’s a fantastic Christmas present for the kids to go back and see Disneyland.
“They will really enjoy it and they’re just at the perfect age.”
The family holiday to Disneyland Paris, courtesy of Gold Crest Holidays, was the star prize in The Press’ 12 Days Of Christmas competition, which was launched in November.
Readers collected tokens printed in the newspaper between November 30 and December 14, attaching them to a wall chart to return to us.
Other prizes included a family pass to Alton Towers, Batman at Newcastle Arena, Eden Camp and York City Knights, as well as bikes and toys.
