A HARDWARE chain has withdrawn plans to revamp its store on the edge of York.
Wilkinson had submitted a planning application to City of York Council to remodel the interior of its branch at Clifton Moor and put up new signs.
The company also planned to create a garden centre enclosure at the back of the building which, as well as being used as retail space, would have provided an area for events such as community meetings.
Wilkinson said the store was being used as one of the trial outlets for its “Edge of Town” concept, which includes the use of eco-friendly initiatives, but the proposals have now been withdrawn.
