A PUB in the centre of York is doing its bit to help combat drink-driving this weekend.
On New Year’s Eve, The Three Tuns in Coppergate will give a free bottle of Beck’s non-alcoholic lager or a glass of Pepsi to any designated drivers. Customers only need to show their car keys to get their free drink.
Landlord Jason Hawkins said: “I am doing this as I believe that anyone who has decided to be a designated driver that evening should be rewarded. It helps to keep the roads safe at a very busy time of year and I believe that as a responsible publican I should do my bit to encourage designated driving.
“Having a member of your party act as a designated driver ensures you can have a great night out without worrying about how to get home.”
