A FOOTBALL fan head-butted a customer in McDonalds after watching the World Cup, York magistrates heard.
After England’s goalless draw with Algeria in South Africa, Shaun Dunn went into the fast-food outlet in Blake Street, York.
Sandra White, prosecuting, said he was abusive to staff and then head-butted a male customer.
Dunn, 23, of Kingsway North, York, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man on June 18.
York magistrates adjourned his case to get a pre-sentence report and said their colleagues will consider all options, including jailing him, when he returns to court on January 20. Dunn was released on bail.
Magistrates heard Dunn told police after his arrest he had been drinking all afternoon on June 18 and watching the World Cup before going to McDonalds at 11.45pm. He barely remembered the incident, but agreed when shown CCTV footage of the attack, that he was responsible.
Sally Howard, for Dunn, said he accepted it was a nasty incident and he was drunk when he committed it.
