POLICE say four people remain in custody today after being arrested in connection with the murder of a York man.
Detectives said they were continuing to question the two men, aged 29 and 34, and two women, aged 26 and 30.
A 49-year-old woman who was also arrested over the incident has been released on conditional bail.
North Yorkshire Police launched the murder inquiry after a man in his forties was stabbed in the throat on Friday and died.
The victim is believed to have been attacked at a house in Stuart Road, Acomb, on Friday. He made his way to nearby Middleton Road, from where he was rushed by ambulance to York Hospital with a police escort.
Middleton Road, next to its junction with Stuart Road near Gale Lane, was sealed off all weekend while forensics officers and detectives examined the scenes. Officers also carried out inquiries in the area and spoke to residents of both streets.
