A MAN fraudulently claimed more than £2,000 in benefits from City of York Council.
James Bailey, 41, of Yarburgh Way, admitted continuing to receive benefits totaling £2,455 after failing to declare his wife had found work and that he had increased his own working hours.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge by York magistrates and ordered to pay £1,350 and £200 in costs.
