YORK’S main library will be closed this Sunday as work is carried out outside its main entrance.
Library Square, in front of the York Explore centre, is being redeveloped to allow disabled parking bays and a new ramp for wheelchair-users to be installed.
Sunday will be the only time the project means the library will have to be closed, and City of York Council’s director of communities and neighbourhoods, Sally Burns, said: “The aim is to improve disabled parking in addition to improving pedestrian access and safety, while making the library more inviting and comfortable for users.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience during this temporary closure.”
