Michael De Costa and Joanna Moy have one final practice at Marygate Tower before the De Costa Academy Of Singing opera at York Guildhall tonight
A tale of murder, seduction and revenge will unfold at York Guildhall tonight when the De Costa Academy Of Singing will perform a full concert version in English of Verdi’s opera Rigoletto.
Taking the lead role of Rigoletto will be singing teacher Michael De Costa, formerly principal baritone with The English National Opera. Other parts will be taken by pupils at the Academy, which is located in Marygate Tower, Bootham, York.
All proceeds from the performance, which starts at 7.30pm, will be in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice. Tickets, which cost £10, are available by phoning the De Costa Academy on 01904 610341.
