VOTERS in Selby have been advised to check they know where to cast their votes in the district and parish council elections.
For the first time, the current civic centre will be used as a polling station instead of the Access Selby office, which has housed recent elections.
Richard Besley, elections officer for Selby District Council, said residents should check their polling cards for their nearest stations.
He said: “Using the current Civic Centre as a polling station for the first time is particularly poignant as the authority will be moving to its new home in Doncaster Road later this year.
“As with other polling stations across the district, the Civic Centre will be open for voters between 7am and 10pm, giving people plenty of time to come along and cast their ballot.”
More than 100 ballot boxes will be in use at 76 polling stations in 65 assorted village halls, community centres and schools, together with the two caravans in the villages of Biggin and Little Smeaton, and a mobile library van in Newton Kyme.
In other changes to polling stations, voters in Gateforth will this year cast their votes at Three Greens, Gateforth, and residents of Huddleston and Newthorpe will have to vote in South Milford.
