AN OPEN day to explain and explore the benefits of solar power will be held in York this weekend.
By collecting solar energy in panels on rooftops, homeowners can power their own house, and sell electricity back to the National Grid.
Local yoga teacher Anna Semlyen has converted her home to run on solar electricity and will welcome visitors to guided tours of the property, 24 Grange Street, off Fulford Road, between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday.
