Pocklington Town Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council will discuss the future of parking in the town at a meeting later this month.
ERYC started a review of parking, looking at introducing pay and display systems into free car parks in 2009, which has been put on hold.
Pocklington Town Council, which is part of a campaign group called the Council of Councils Against Car Parking Changes, will question figures released by ERYC at the meeting.
The town council will question figures given to them by ERYC that service and maintenance costs for one car park come to more than £2,700 and the estimated annual revenue from making the three long-stay car parks in the town pay and display would be £47,000.
