A YORK man’s record-breaking attempt to fly from York to Sydney has reached Malta.
Dave Sykes, a York paraplegic pilot, set off from Rufforth Airfield on April 28, and is making good progress despite of a few technical setbacks.
Dave, 43, is raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance by flying a Microlight over 11,600 nautical miles to Australia.
Although the last update on his blog was on Monday, Dave’s progress is also being tracked by satellite technology, which shows he reached Malta at 2.18pm yesterday.
