A SUPERMARKET in North Yorkshire was sealed off as it became the centre of an investigation into an alleged sexual attack.
Detectives cordoned off Asda, in Bower Road, Harrogate, yesterday morning following reports that a young woman was sexually assaulted outside the supermarket.
There was a visible police presence outside Asda until about 5pm as officers conducted inquiries.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Police are investigating after reports that a young woman was sexually assaulted outside Asda, in Bower Road, Harrogate. The investigation is still at a very early stage and we are unable to comment further at this time.”
The woman, aged in her late teens, was still being interviewed yesterday.
