I URGE readers to support Diabetes UK during this year’s Diabetes Week (June 12 to 18) by holding a Big Diabetes Week Quiz.

Diabetes is a serious condition and there are now 236,711 people diagnosed with the condition across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Learning to live with diabetes can be challenging and it’s vital that people receive the emotional support they need to effectively manage their condition.

That’s why this year during Diabetes Week, Diabetes UK is raising awareness of the importance of talking about diabetes and is aiming to raise £200,000 to expand its Careline – a vital service which provides practical information and emotional support to anyone affected by diabetes. You can help Diabetes UK reach this target by holding a Big Diabetes Week Quiz at your workplace, local school, pub, community centre or anywhere else you can think of. It’s the perfect way to get all your friends, family, school friends or colleagues together to raise awareness of diabetes.
