I READ with delight your reporting of “Garden-grabbing” (The Press, April 30).

City of York Council’s planning committee needs to be congratulated with its decision to reject the proposals for the building of five homes in the garden of a bungalow.

There appears to be no thought when developers “garden-grab” and shoe-horn dwellings, leaving “postage stamp” gardens, thus spoiling amenities for children’s play areas which used to be family homes and destroying the pleasurable areas in which we live.

Let us all hope that in the future more concern is shown regarding “garden-grabbing”.
