A CHARITY has donated £14,500 to provide wheelchairs for York Hospital.
York Against Cancer donated the money to buy 24 wheelchairs for the new multi-storey car park.
The chairs will help patients and visitors to travel between the car park and the main hospital building.
Patrick Shepherd, chairman of York Against Cancer, said: “York Against Cancer values its long relationship with the hospital and we are very pleased to have been able to help make the new car park more user friendly and hope that the wheelchairs will be used for many years to come.”
Alan Rose, chairman of York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, added: “York Against Cancer is one of the key long-term supporters of our hospital. We thank them for the generous donation of wheelchairs, which will help many patients, visitors and carers to have a more comfortable visit
