JULIAN COLE’S interesting discussion of tolerance and the balance between Christianity and secularism (The Press, May 5) does not mention that, in this country at any rate and I think in some others, secularism controls the police and the army, and the various forms of local and national government.
It gets its way by clever use of force – might telling you what right is.
Christianity has only its beliefs. It has no State power. When was the last Christian riot? Secularism is a religion that does not state its creed and which changes its judgments as it changes the laws of the land.
