A FORMER post office in York is to be turned into flats.
Planners at City of York Council have approved a scheme to convert the building which once housed the Bright Street post office, in the Leeman Road area of the city.
The building is currently a two-storey terraced house and the scheme will see it become flats after no businesses came forward to take it over.
The owners of the site in Stamford Street East said previous plans to create houses had been shelved because they were not economically viable.
