A YORK café is aiming to allow people wanting to brush up on their French the chance to hone their language skills.
Café Rouge, in Low Petergate, is teaming up with the Alliance Francaise de York, which provides classes led by French tutors as well as talks, concerts, dances and social events, to launch weekly conversation sessions for those aiming to keep up with the language in an informal, Parisian-style setting.
The Rendes-vous Francais sessions will start on May 18 and be held between 12.30pm and 2pm on Wednesdays and 10am and 11.30am on Thursdays. Sessions will cost £2 for Alliance Francaise members and £3 for non-members, with everybody taking part getting a ten per count discount on food and drink at Café Rouge.
Tutors from Alliance Francaise will be on hand to lead sessions and provide items from French newspapers for discussion, and special French fare will be on the menu. For more information, phone Café Rouge on 01904 673293 or Alliance Francaise on 01904 656827.
