LABOUR has swept to power in York and change is among us.
In these hard-pressed economic times, Labour will be the voice of hard-working people in York against ideological Westminster austerity measures.
Over the course of the campaign, Labour candidates and activists spoke to hundreds of people and, as a result, won eight seats. Now isn’t that how politics should work?
I am proud to have been part of that campaign. The people of York have voted for change and voted out the Lib Dems – who have betrayed people up and down the country.
As the Lib Dems undergo an identity crisis, there have been 800 more everyday, working people elected as Labour councillors across England.
