TWO people from York Blind & Partially Sighted Society were today travelling down to London to join with 10,000 other disabled people in a mass lobby of parliament.
Diane Roworth, chief officer of York Blind & Partially Sighted Society, and Glynnis Garner, who are both visually impaired, will be taking part in the “Hardest Hit” lobby.
Diane said the event was intended to raise concerns about aspects of the Welfare Reform Bill, in particular the impact on Disability Living Allowance.
The aim was to ensure that the voice of visually impaired people would be heard, and many campaigners had appointments to speak directly with their MP.
