FLAMBOYANT race goers have modelled hats that literally look good enough to eat.
As quirky hats are the height of fashion at any race meeting, York racecourse decided to show the variety of locally sourced food it offers by commissioning hats festooned in food.
The unusual hats were asparagus, strawberries and cheese themed and were decorated by local florists Vincent & Stubbs.
Keith Stewart, of York Racecourse Hospitality, said: “We use more local produce than any other race course in the country. At York race goers can enjoy not only award winning modern grandstands, manicured lawns and home grown flowers, but some of the best produce the county has to offer, including unique, protected regional cheeses, asparagus and strawberries, setting the scene for the best of race days.”
