The Press’s gardening expert, Gina Parkinson, will be on hand to offer advice and tips at a plant sale and cream tea being held at St Leonard’s Hospice later this month.
Gina will join the hospice’s team of volunteer gardeners at the event in the hospice grounds, off Tadcaster Road, on Sunday, May 22.
Gina will be happy to answer any gardening queries or offer problem-solving advice as she helps to sell the wide variety of plants donated to raise funds for the hospice.
The hospice gardeners would welcome extra donations from their green-fingered supporters, who can help St Leonard’s by potting up an extra plant or two, or perhaps preparing an extra tray of plants to donate to the hospice.
All types of plants are welcome and all the proceeds from the sale go towards the hospice’s work.
Judith Wilson, community fundraiser at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: ‘We’re delighted that Gina can join us for the plant sale and tell all our puzzled gardeners how to make the best show in their gardens.”
While Gina will be on hand from 11am to 1pm, the plant sale and cream tea runs from 11am to 3pm. Admission is free, and the event takes place in the hospice grounds, opposite Tesco’s Askham Bar store. Anyone with plants to offer should phone 01904 777777.
